THING TO SEE
NOTHING TO SEE (Berlin, 2019) is a double-sided risograph printed poster about on-/offline self-defence tactics. Limited edition of 50 copies, A3, 115g, 2 colors (magenta & steel), risograph printed on 100% recycled paper.
The front image is a « détournement » of a page of QVINNA, a 1965 Swedish erotic magazine, found in a flea market in Stockholm in 2018. The quote is taken from Anon, a movie by Andrew Niccol (2018), which engages with the question of surveillance : «It’s not that I have something to hide (…) I have nothing I want you to see.»
The self-published work includes a list on the back of the poster. The list has been written after reading on social media about an act of aggression against a queer arab person that happened in an Arabic-speaking context in Kreuzberg, Berlin in 2019. As the post became viral, the complexity of the on-/offline situation increased.
Printed at Drucken3000.
Presented in a performance during the Queer Gala in the Köpi Squat, Berlin, July 2019.
And during an exhibtion in StaDemonia Tattoo Stockholm, September 2019.
